Assume Nothing, Question Everything

Under her own label Phonotograph Records Kae West released her latest single, How Sweet, on October 15 following a double A-side of covers of The Smiths / Morrissey songs “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” and “Hold On To Your Friends”

‘How Sweet’, an uptempo song of a different caliber beholds a decent dose of both cynicism and optimism and with a touch of self-deprecating humor, Korine also shows a different side of herself in the eponymous music video.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Morrissey, Portishead, Patti Smith, David Bowie and Sparks, and together with other musicians, Kae West creates relevant alternative pop / rock songs on urgent topics. Songs that fire the imagination while both expressing and underlining the issues of the day.

In support of the music, Kae West creates vivid art works in both still and video images formats.

Kae West puts heart and soul into every project she undertakes and supports the charity project “Music Against Animal Abuse” with which she also tempts other musicians to get involved.

With her clear messages, wrapped in black humour, Kae West inspires the listener to draw their own conclusions. “Assume nothing, question everything”.

Op 15 oktober presenteerde Kae West onder haar eigen platenlabel Phonotograph Records de nieuwe single ‘How Sweet’. Een uptempo song niet vies van een behoorlijke dosis cynisme en met een tikkie zelfspot laat Korine, zangeres en inspirator, een andere kant van zichzelf zien in de gelijknamige videoclip.

Eerder presenteerde Kae West nog een dubbele A-kant: “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” en “Hold On To Your Friends”, beide covers van The Smiths/Morrissey.

Aan de hand van inspiratiebronnen zoals Portishead, Patti Smith, David Bowie, Sparks en Morrissey en met externe muzikanten maakt Kae West relevante alternatieve pop-/rocksongs over urgente onderwerpen die tot de verbeelding spreken en die de waan van de dag verwoorden en onderstrepen.

Ter ondersteuning aan de muziek illustreert Kae West levendig met kunstvormen als stilstaand en bewegend beeld.

Verder stort Kae West zich met hart en ziel op liefdadigheidsproject “Music Against Animal Abuse” en verleidt andere muzikanten zich aan te sluiten bij dit project.

Met een duidelijke boodschap, verpakt in zwarte humor, inspireert Kae om zelf conclusies te trekken. Als statement brengt Kae West: ”Assume nothing, question everything”.
